The original motor went bad. When I pressed the trigger, the head would only twitch. I had about a year left on my 5 year warranty, but Ego Customer service recommended changing the cutting head and said that I could end up paying for the repair if it was sent to a repair center, which would require that I send a battery and charger along with the trimmer. Sounds like neither service or repair knows what they are doing. Soldering the leads from the new motor to the existing cable was a challenge, the wires need to be short to fit inside the tube and motor cover. But it worked. You need Power+Parts because your Ego warranty is likely worthless! Ego Customer service may recommend you replace accessories that are not the source of the problem. It's a shame because it's such a handy trimmer.
